Self-confidence is such a complicated subject and many great books have been written about it. But you can start by reading two of my favorites. The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Branden and Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz.

Both books are well-written and quite easy to understand.
The best book for improving your self-confidence is Gorilla Mindset by Mike Cernovich. Not only does it help your self-confidence, it also helps you with other areas of your life. It shows you ways to improve your posture, health and mindset. And please don’t pay any attention to all the bad crap recently written about Mike. I met him personally during his Gorilla Mindset Seminar in 2016, in NYC. He’s a great guy and his book is a real game-changer.
However reading great books can only take you so far.
The real determining factor is set by your behaviour and actions.
My suggestion is to build a list of accomplishments. Start writing down all the things you’ve accomplish thus far and keep adding to it.
- Completed university? Add it to the list!
- Received your driver’s licence? Add it to the list!
At first, your list will be thin, but with some hard work and determination, it will grow.
Another suggestion is to write a routine and follow it. Similar to what the Canadian Armed Forces use. (Scroll down to the Daily Routine)
Example of a simple routine to follow
- Wake up
- Drink water
- Make bed

At first, it will be hard, but you have to keep pushing. You can also follow Jerry Seinfeld’s Productivity Secret. Purchase or create yourself a huge monthly calendar and after every successful day, write a huge X for every completed day with a red marker. The goal is to have a long red-chain and to not break it.
To summarize, reading books will only take you so far, to truly build self-confidence, you will need to take daily action and get some accomplishments under your belt.
I hope this helps!
